Company: LE FEU DE L’EAU

Artist: Wendy Polish

LE FEU DE L’EAU has been at EPCF since the beginning, and their candles are as wildly popular with the customers as Wendy and Jo are with us.

Jo Strettell and Wendy Polish have been friends since 1998. With their knowledge of art, beauty & fragrance they created a high-end candle line called LE FEU DE L’EAU, which translates as The Fire Of The Water. Inspired by the “fantasy candle” of the late 60’s. The candles are created without using a mold. They are sculpted with the use of water.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting their colorful studio and photographing Wendy in her creative space.

Tell us about your current collection?

Our most recent candle line is called the Color Block Collection. The packaging is inspired by mid-century design.  It’s modern, playful and functional. It also allows us to expand our brand and offer our fragrance in a neutral container.

How long have you been participating in the Echo Park Craft Fair? Have you noticed any changes over the time you have been visiting or selling at the fair?

I’ve been participating in the EPCF since 2010, when it was in Rachel Craven’s backyard. Since then, the fair has expanded immensely. We have all grown closer and become one big, creative family and we love one another, truly!

What does it mean to you to be part of the Echo Park Craft Fair?

I feel extremely fortunate and honored to be a part of EPCF. It’s been a creative hub for my design work and business. The friendships and community that have been established at the Fair are immeasurable. It has introduced me to some of the greatest creatives who reside in LA. I am most grateful for that.

Has EPCF been important to your creative and business growth?

The Echo Park Craft Fair has been a conduit for much of our success. We have built relationships with our customers and created a business support network with fellow designers. Also, the Fair has been a platform to test out new products and get immediate and honest feedback from our peers.
